Shingles can cause a lot of pain, both at the time of having the shingles outbreak as well as after the shingles has gone away. The latter is known as postherpetic neuralgia, and can span for periods of time lasting up to a few years. It’s not easy to constantly live with this postherpetic neuralgia pain, so it is lucky some treatments for the pain have become available.

These treatments can be in the form of creams and medications. Many people claim to have treatments that work. I am not able to say from experience whether these work or not as I am still young and have not yet had a case of the shingles. However, the most common and popular shingles treatment is an antiviral drug, Zovirax, which lessens the pace at which the varicella zoster virus is able to spread.

As with all things, I recommend you see your doctor before taking any medications or using any creams, as well as ask them for advice. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.

Other treatments on the market are this natural shingles remedy, Terrasil, Heal Shingles, Famvir, and Valtrex. As I said earlier, I personally have not been able to test any of these shingles treatments. However, they are on the market so I thought I would list them here for your convenience.

The shingles skin disorder is a skin disorder, like a rash and blisters, that is on the skin on a certain area of the body. The virus that causes the shingles is actually the same virus that brings on the chickenpox, which is called the varicella zoster virus. This shingles skin disorder can become quite annoying and painful, which is very irritating. Scars of where the blisters were may even remain after your case of shinmgles has gone. However, the shingles, hwich is caused by the varicella zoster virus, does only affect approximately 1 in 4 people, which leaves 75% of people shingle free in their life. The shingles virus generally last for a few weeks, but even up to months. Shingles is much more common in adults than it is in children. This is because the varicella zoster attacks a weaker immune system, which occurs under stress and fatigue, two common characteristics of the adult population.

Shingles has a wide variety of causes. The main causes are a weak immune system as well as high stress levels (emotional and physical) and fatigue. Therefore, to avoid shingles, it is best to combat these causes as best as you can. Other causes can be those such as a weakened area of skin due to injury. Under conditions such as a weak immune system, the varicella zoster will “come out” again and bring about an outbreak of shingles.

There is currently also a vaccine that helps prevent the shingles which can be undertaken by those over 60 years of ago. Shingles is in fact most common in this age group, so it is well targeted. Treatment creams are also available to help ease some of the pain associated with having a case of the shingles.

The shingles virus is heavily related to the chicken pox. In an onset of chicken pox, it is the varicella zoster virus which brings about the chicken pox onset itself. An onset of shingles is also caused by the same virus, which is the varicella zoster virus. Shingles also has quite a similar look to the chicken pox, and also brings about the same itchiness on the skin. Shingles are a rash and blisters that form on the body, which makes that area of skin quite painful in some cases and also very irritating. However, unlike chicken pox, shingles does not occur on the whole body. Instead, it only appears and causes pain in one small particular area of the skin. Shingles is brought about when the virus that causes the chicken pox, the varicella zoster virus, decides to strike again at some point after a person has had the chickenpox. It usually attacks elder people with weaker immune systems. What has happened is that the varicella zoster virus remains in the body after the chickenpox and “sleeps” until it “attacks” again. Approximately 25% of all people who had had the chicken pox get an onset of shingles, and for these people it will be just the once normally.

Shingles is not contagious, for the reason that the varicella zoster virus is present in almost everyone’s bodies, and therefore it doesn’t require a transfer from one person to another. Simply put, it will attack a weak immune system. With that said, people who have not yet had the chicken pox can catch the chicken pox from a person who has shingles. Shingles is contagious to people who haven’t yet had the chicken pox if new blisters are forming on their skin and not all blisters have crusted yet.

Headaches and feeling woozy are one of the first signs that you are coming down with an onset of shingles. A rash will start forming on a certain area of your skin where you will soon feel pain and itchiness, followed by some blisters forming on your skin. This will generally last a couple of weeks, which can be very uncomfortable. After a few weeks no more new blisters should be forming and all of the blisters should begin to crust, which means that you are no longer contagious to those who have not yet had the chickenpox.

Some treatments to take away some of the pain and itch of the shingles are available. No cures have yet been confirmed, however, there is a vaccine for those over 60.

A virus that it brought about by an attack of the varicella zoster virus, Shingles, which is also called Herpes Zoster because of the virus that causes it, is a virus that causes an onset of blisters like a rash in a small specific body area. This rash and blisters can be extremely irritating, causing feelings of stabbing, sharp pains, itchiness and more. The varicella zoster virus that causes shingles is the same virus that brings about an onset of the chickenpox. This is because the varicella zoster virus actaully remains within the body even after a person has had the chickenpox, and shingles is brought about when this virus decides to strike again against a now weakened immune system in older age. Three quarters of all people will not get the shingles, and for those who do they will usually only get it once, with only the odd case getting it multiple times.

You may be wondering whether shingles is contagious. Well, the general rule is that it is not contagious. This holds true in the sense that it cannot be passed onto someone who has already had the chickenpox. The varicella zoster virus is already present in the body and will attack on its own accord, and thus it cannot be “caught” from another person. If however, a person who as of yet has not been struck with an onset of the chickenpox comes into contact with someone who is in full flight in their shingles virus than it actually can be contagious. This is the reason why shingles is much more contagious to children than it is to those in their older ages.

If you are in doubt in regards to what the symptoms of the shingles are, then listen up, especially if you are feeling woozy or itchy in small areas of skin. Some symptoms of the shingles are headaches, like what you feel when you have a fever, and also a pain or itchiness on an area of skin, in which a rash will develop. Blisters will actaully start popping up around this area for a few weeks, before they all start to crust. Shingles is no longer contagious when no new blisters form and all of the old blisters become crusty.

Treatment for the pain and irritation is available, especially in the form of creams. However, currently there are no cures.

Shingles, medically known as Herpes Zoster, as it is caused by the varicella zoster virus, is a virus in which a rash and blisters will occur on a small, specific area of the body, causing a lot of pain, irritation and itchiness. The varicella zoster virus which causes it is the same virus which causes chickenpox, and it is able to cause shingles as this virus remains in the body after chickenpox has occurred. Shingles is simply when this varicella zoster virus “attacks”. The shingles virus, for those who have it, will generally only occur once in a person’s lifetime. However, there is quite a high chance that you might not even get it, as only around 25% of all people do have shingles.

Shingles is not contagious, at least not to those who have had the chickenpox. This is due to the fact that the varicella zoster virus is present in everyone’s bodies after they have the chickenpox, and therefore it doesn’t need to be transferred between different people. It will simply attack on its own accord. However, if someone with shingles comes into contact with a person who hasn’t had the chickenpox yet than it becomes contagious (if the person catches it they will get the chickenpox). Therefore, shingles is mostly contagious only to children rather than adults, as most people get the chickenpox early on in their life.

Shingles (Herpes Zoster) has some symptoms that can tell you whether you are getting the virus or not. Often you will start feeling woozy/getting headaches before a rash will break out on a specific area of your skin. This rash will generally be very itchy and sometimes quite painful. Blisters will form, and a few weeks later they should start to crust. It is at this point that the shingles virus is no longer contagious to anyone.

As for cures, there are no known cures to the virus. However, some creams do provide pain relief on the infected area, so be on the lookout for those.

Shingles is a painful virus that causes rashes and blisters on the skin which can become very irritating and itchy. Caused by the same virus that gives you the chicken pox, Varicella Zoster, shingles generally occurs in about a quarter of the adult population and can take up to months to get rid of. Those at risk of getting shingles are all of those who went through the process of having the chickenpox earlier on in life.

Because the Varicella Zoster from chickenpox remains in the body after the onset of chickenpox, it can not so much be transferred between different bodies. It simply comes about in those who are experiencing old age, stress on the body or a weak immune system. It is already present in nearly every body, and so there is no need for it to be transferred. Being around someone experiencing the shingles also will not bring out a case of shingles on yourself.

With all that said, shingles can be contagious to those who have not had a case of chickenpox yet. For example, a mother with shingles could be contagious to her newborn baby and give the baby chickenpox. Therefore, if you are in this situation, you should try to cover up and avoid as much contact as possible to those who have not had the chickenpox.

The shingles is contagious to those who haven’t had chickenpox yet right up until the point when new blisters stop being formed on your skin and old blisters get a crust. At this point shingles is not contagious to anyone.
